Combine the conditions that matter
Rules support schedule windows, sleep state, battery or adapter power, and battery-level thresholds. AND and OR conditions let you express a routine such as acting when the Mac sleeps on battery, instead of applying the same action whenever any condition changes.
A schedule is an automation window while WattGuard is running. It is not a promise to boot a powered-off Mac or install a hardware wake alarm. macOS scheduling is a separate topic covered in the pmset reference.
Choose actions with a purpose
Available actions include disabling selected wireless interfaces, quitting selected apps and running a chosen Shortcut. Full controls Bluetooth directly, subject to macOS access and licence activation. Sleep Shield uses Full’s helper; manual power settings use a separate macOS administrator prompt. Sleep Shield is not available in the Store edition.
Wireless state is captured for restoration when a session ends. Restoration attempts can fail when a permission, system service or external state changes; inspect the result rather than assuming any automation is infallible.
Complete the setup for your edition
In the Store edition, Bluetooth automation uses user-installed scripts and Shortcuts. Full controls Bluetooth directly, subject to macOS access and licence activation. The guided Store setup requires deliberate user actions and macOS permissions.
The sandboxed Store edition does not include the privileged helper and cannot directly change system pmset settings. Full has additional system-control setup. WattGuard must remain running for its rules to respond.
Start with one small routine
Choose a problem you can observe, configure only the action relevant to it and verify the next session. Adding every action at once makes it harder to learn what helped. There is no built-in Low Power Mode action in the current rule set; use the dedicated guide for the supported macOS profile controls.
